Xavier Figueroa
Office Coordinator

Raised as a boy in the Bronx, NY and becoming a teen in Escondido, CA, my favorite subjects were art, math, and science. These eventually lead me to studying art, architecture, and computer science in high school. Later, I returned to the Big Apple to attend college. Although I never became an architect, I’ve continuously developed a variety of skills that will never leave me unemployed. I’ve added at least 2-3 new skills from every job. In the first engineering office I worked, I taught myself AutoCAD by recreating my pencil drawings of a 4BR ranch house I designed in school. It took me 3 months to draw it by hand, but only 1 month to render it as a 3D model in AutoCAD. I’ve developed a knack for troubleshooting an array of issues and streamlining workflows which gives me a sense of pride. With such a variety of possible career choices, I’ve been fortunate to work in the engineering sector for over 12 years of my life.

Did you know?

I’m a professional artist working in a variety of disciplines including graphic design, illustration, installation, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. These, along with music, poetry and writing have fed my lifelong commitment to being a Renaissance artist. I have previously published an online art magazine; have appeared in newspapers, magazines and television; have been featured in a documentary arts book; and have also been fortunate enough to receive several artist grants, one of which enabled me to create a temporary public work of art as part of the NYC-DOT Arts program.
