Building Performance Design Engineer
I am a first-generation American, born and raised in the beautiful city of San Francisco. When a new regime took over in Vietnam during the 1980s, my grandparent’s business and home were confiscated. This left a family of sixteen on the streets with little to no resources. Years of poverty and extreme hardship did not break my family’s spirit. My eldest aunt was able to sponsor my mom to America. My grandfather taught my dad to save enough gold to travel to America. Life was not easier for my parents in America, but all they needed was hope. My parents worked multiple jobs and saved every penny to provide my brother and I an opportunity.
Inspired by my parent’s kindness to life and the great minds that iteratively design a better quality of life, I wanted my life’s work to be a combination of both. After receiving my Mechanical Engineering degree, I furthered my studies as a graduate in Engineering – Energy Systems. Combined with my time as an energy auditor, I learned that creating a sustainable future is within reach. I dream of a built environment that responsibly promotes the health and inspiration of our family, friends, and future generations. I am thrilled to join Meyers+ in contributing to that process of creating beautiful spaces that add value to society in a sustainable and meaningful way.
Did you know?
I love creating and spending time with people of all ages. While I was working at an indoor playground, I would hang out with babies all the way to great grandparents. I was always amazed about the unfiltered curiosity of kids and the profound stories of older generations. It was always satisfying to see a customer amazed by bringing their children’s birthday vision to reality. The element of imagining and then manifesting it is truly a gift of the human spirit.
