I fell in love with building design when I was eight years old after a trip to California and a tour of San Simeon. I was in awe with how different rooms and spaces could make you feel and the experience of moving from one space to another. After that trip, all I did was draw building sections, floor plans and stairways. I snuck into the houses under construction in my neighborhood and convinced my mom to take me to the open houses of unique properties in our area. Unfortunately, my 4th grade art teacher didn’t appreciate my sketches and drawing technique and I was “encouraged” to focus on science and math in lieu of art and design. Luckily, in high school, I discovered a field of study – Architectural Engineering - it was perfect for me (like peanut butter and chocolate)! After graduating engineering school, I joined Flack + Kurtz where I focused on electrical and lighting design for a wide range of buildings throughout the US and the world. Now after more than 25 years, I am thrilled to help start a firm where we are all passionate about building design and the positive effects of strong collaboration.

Available power capacity is quickly becoming the biggest driver in the Real Estate market. It has always been location, location, and location that has driven commercial property value but now in the new frontier of artificial intelligence (AI) development, that location needs access to much higher densities of reliable and hopefully, renewable power supplies. This is becoming true in both the more densely developed urban markets as well as areas that traditionally support larger data centers.
