Senior Mechanical Engineer


MEYERS+ ENGINEERS is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our San Francisco office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry. We are looking for a technically proficient and seasoned engineer with experience delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance, innovative, and iconic buildings.

Job Description:
The following job description is a general summary of duties typically performed in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate design options to stakeholders

  • Develop high quality mechanical HVAC system construction documents

  • Develop building automation system (BAS) controls and sequences of operation

  • Perform engineering calculations for building load analysis and HVAC systems sizing and selection

  • Prepare mechanical technical specifications

  • Lead construction administration activities including on-site field observation, punch list reports, contractor coordination, RFI’s, submittals and cost estimate reviews

  • Develop new client relationships

  • Participate in business development activities

  • Present to clients, staff and at industry events

  • Provide mentorship, training and development for staff

  • Project quality control

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration

  • Excellent communications skills to enable successful in-person dialogue and relationships with owners, architects and other consultants

  • Inspire and motivate staff

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit

  • Engineering calculations and performance simulation software (Trace 700, IESVE)

  • Construction administration experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

  • 10+ Years' Experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • LEED Accreditation
