Mechanical Engineer
MEYERS+ ENGINEERS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our New York City office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry. We are looking for a technically proficient and seasoned engineer with experience delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance innovative, and iconic buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conceptualize sustainable mechanical systems and communicate design options to clients and all stakeholders
Develop high quality mechanical HVAC system construction documents
Perform engineering calculations for cooling and heating load analysis
Prepare mechanical technical specifications
Prepare building due diligence and assessment reports to describe existing systems and HVAC design options.
Participate with the MEP team in construction administration activities including on-site field observation, punch list reports, contractor coordination, RFI’s, and cost estimate review.
Provide mentorship, training, and development for junior staff.
Develop client relationships through successful coordination and demonstration of excellence on project work

Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration.
Excellent communications skills to enable successful in-person dialogue and relationships with owners, architects, and other consultants.
Desire for project management roles where you can lead and manage MEP project teams successfully.
Excellent written skills in the form of engineering reports and technical analysis.
Effective knowledge of the NYC Building Code and NFPA Codes.
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit
Engineering calculations and performance simulation software
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
5+ Years' Experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
LEED Accreditation
