Lauren Zavaglia
Electrical Engineer

I was born and raised in a small suburb of Westchester County, New York. Growing up, I found myself always taking a particular liking to math and science classes in school. Not only did I enjoy these subjects, but they came easy to me. I never thought about what path I wanted to take after high school until one of my math teachers recognized my math abilities and spoke to me about his previous career as an electrical engineer. At the time, I was only 15 years old and I didn’t know what career I wanted to pursue let alone what an electrical engineer actually did, but it sparked an interest. What I did know was that I wanted to combine my natural talents with my desire to help people and to be a part of the ever-changing world of technology. Fast forward a few years later and I went on to graduate from Manhattan College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Throughout college, I sampled different parts of the industry with internships ranging from the MTA to an electrical contractor to an engineering design and consulting firm. I began my full-time career designing electrical systems and after a few years I expanded into the security systems design sector. I have gained an incredible amount of experience in the industry since my journey as an electrical engineer began. I have had the privilege of designing highly technical systems and engineering solutions for clients while overseeing fascinating projects all over the country and meeting some brilliant people along the way. I learned that there is a solution to every problem, sometimes you just need to get a little creative to find it. Joining MEYERS+ is an incredible opportunity and I am excited to work alongside people that I can learn from and grow with professionally.
