I grew up in Lima, Peru. A city which is famous for its fog and its sunset or “sky of witches”. When I was younger, I used to venture in the downtown of Lima where I used to explore the eclectic architecture of this old city. I was going to study architecture but due to my father’s death and the political unrest in Peru I moved to California. I took several classes and got an AA in Architecture and Construction Management. I learned to draw floorplans manually but transitioned to the digital aspect of doing drawings using software used in the industry. I still like to do it manually and love to sketch, draw, paint, read and learn foreign languages. I still carry my sketch book and try to sketch, even though some people think is a dying skill, every day. One of my favorites activities is listening to music, swimming, surfing (retire momentarily), going to museums and dancing especially Argentine Tango. I love animals, but cats and parakeets are my favorites.

Working at Meyers + has opened a new opportunity in which I can learn more about the building industry and the transition and creation of sustainable buildings. I really enjoy the environment of camaraderie and professionalism of the employees working at the firm and their goal to give a first-class service to their clients.

Did you know?

Though the Italian community in Peru was not as numerous as the other one’s in South America it was at one time one of the richest in the Americas. Only skillful and wealthy Italians were able to pay to go around the tip of South America in search of the gold of Peru. One of them was Domingo or Domenico Ghirardelli who later moved with his Peruvian family to San Francisco during the gold rush.
