Jamie Craig
Mechanical Engineer

I was born and raised in a town called Paisley, which is situated in the west central lowlands of Scotland and borders the city of Glasgow. I attended school in my hometown, where I enjoyed the technical drawing, design, and manufacturing classes. These subjects got me interested in how objects, structures, etc. are brought to life from the initial design stage to the final construction. Thankfully, I was half decent at mathematics and physics, and enjoyed the task of problem solving. Based on my skills and interests in school, I decided to progress these further and study mechanical engineering at university in Glasgow, where I achieved my BA honors degree and MA degree. Upon completion of my studies, I started my first professional job at an MEP design consultancy in Glasgow and have been working in the industry since. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit many places throughout my life; however, in March 2022, I was in San Francisco and could see myself working and living there. I’ve always fancied working abroad and wanted a new challenge within a highly respected engineering firm, so I applied for a position with MEYERS+ and thankfully my application was picked up. Following a team’s interview with the mechanical principal, I was lucky enough to have been offered a role, and after a lengthy visa process, I arrived in SF in November 2022 to start with M+ as a mechanical engineer.

Sports and exercise play a big part in my life. I keep myself active through football, attending the gym, running, hiking, and the occasional round of golf. Moreover, I enjoy exciting activities and had a motocross bike growing up and have recently learned how to snowboard. When I’m not partaking in my usual hobbies, you’ll most likely find me trying something new. I’m also a keen traveler and enjoy visiting new places and diving into the surrounding environments and cultures. Additionally, I love my music, food, beers, and an adventure.
