GRADUATE HOTEL
The project is located on University Ave in Palo Alto, California.
The project included the conversion of 75 former apartment units into 100 hotel rooms and added two dining options, including a cafe on the ground floor named Lou & Herbert’s and a rooftop bar called President’s Terrace.
The project delivery method was design-build. The MEP Basis of Design was delivered at 100% Schematic Design for procurement of mechanical and electrical design-build subcontractors. M+ provided peer review services for the remaining design and construction administration phases.
MEYERS+ provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services on the project.
ENGINEERING FEATURES
The HVAC system is all-electric VRF heat
recovery system with dedicated outside air unit for guestroom ventilation. The systems were designed to coordinate with the constraints of the historic fabric, including ducted outside air distribution above the corridor ceiling and
vertical exhaust from the guestrooms to the roof via subducts.
