FREMONT BANK HEADQUARTERS

The new 34,000 square foot, 6-floor headquarters building for Fremont Bank is located at the corner of Fremont Boulevard and Capitol Avenue in Fremont, California.

The building includes space for a two-story banking hall at the ground floor reminiscent of the original bank on site. Corporate offices for Fremont Bank will be housed on Floors 3 through 5. The 6th Floor accommodates a boardroom and client-centered indoor function space and roof terrace maximizing the surrounding views of Fremont and the East Bay hills.

MEYERS+ provided MEP engineering design services for a design-bid-build project delivery method as well as energy modeling services.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

The innovative design includes vertical fins on the upper floors along with an angular roof trellis to provide exterior shading opportunities. In addition, MEYERS+ worked closely with the architect and façade manufacturers to identify and propose the use of electrochromic glass for large portions of the buildings’ exterior glazing. This automatically tinting glass keeps heat and glare out of the space without the use of additional window treatments. All together, these façade treatments work together to provide a higher level of daylighting, views and comfort for occupants while reducing mechanical system capacities and maximizing energy conservation.
