Frances Belcher
Mechanical Designer

In elementary school my favorite subject was math. I liked the fact that there was only one right answer, and a clear path to get there. Participating in the Math Olympiad in 5th grade cemented my love for working with others to solve problems. Although I was born in California, I will always call the Seattle area home. When it came time for college, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo was my top choice, with a plan to major in environmental plant sciences. After taking 2 classes I realized this wasn’t the career path for me and made the switch to engineering.

I learned of MEYERS+ through a career fair and was planning to intern at the San Francisco office summer of 2020. Due to Covid, that didn’t work out, but I kept the company in mind as I finished my studies, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. After college, I started making my way east, first heading to Texas for a year and then moving to New York, while working for a large HVAC company in a rotational development program. When the program ended, I was ready for a change and found myself interviewing with MEYERS+ New York. I’m very excited for the opportunity to continue my career at MEYERS+.

Did you know?

When I’m not in the office, I love spending time outdoors. In college I played on Cal Poly’s ultimate frisbee team, and explored the many national parks the West Coast is famous for. My favorites are Yosemite, Arches and the Olympic National Forest. I also enjoy running, and training for different events. I’m participating in my first triathlon in 2024, and will be running the New York City marathon at the end of 2024!
