Commissioning Technician
MEYERS+ ENGINEERS, an award‑winning and innovative multi‑disciplinary MEP engineering consulting firm, seeks an entry level Commissioning Technician for our San Francisco Office. MEYERS+ works closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex commercial building projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.
Job Description:
Our Commissioning Team and Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. Commissioning Technicians are engaged in the testing of facilities, equipment and plants to make sure they function correctly and produce the expected results. You will actively execute building commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks on projects and assist the Owner and Design team to meet the project goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Commissioning of HVAC and Process piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.
Working with systems such as steam, compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, plumbing, process piping, electrical distribution systems, emergency power systems, fire alarm systems, smoke control systems, building automation systems, and lighting control systems.
Coordination for close out, including testing & balancing, controls, start-up and commissioning.
Document control, functionality verification, equipment testing and creation of checklists/punch lists.
Identifying problems and shortcomings with existing systems.
Co-ordinating testing and commissioning activities and providing advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.
Producing or assisting in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.
Undertaking testing and commissioning activities in line with the specified site requirements.
Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in the project systems manual.
Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary MEP systems performance in accordance with project program requirements.

Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Construction-related field.
California Title 24 Energy Code Commissioning requirements.
LEED Commissioning requirements.
