CHANNEL HOUSE AT
JACK LONDON SQUARE

The project is located at the corner of Embarcadero West and Harrison Streets in the Jack London Square district of Oakland, California.  The project consists of 5 stories of Type-IIIA wood frame construction over 3 stories of Type-IA concrete. 

The mid-rise project includes 8 stories of residential units over ground floor retail and parking. The building includes a combination of 333 rental apartment residential units.

The project is seeking Greenpoint Certification.

The project delivery method used was design-bid-build. MEYERS+ is the engineer of record for the project.

MEYERS+ provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire protection services.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

Located immediately adjacent to an active Amtrak rail line, the HVAC systems required detailed coordination to meet the acoustical criteria.

Two electric service vaults were separated along Embarcadero to reduce the metered service feed lengths to each residence, reducing costs and installation time.
