Alicia Herrera
Associate, Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer
I grew up in the small town of Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the first atomic bomb was created at Los Alamos National Laboratory. I was privileged with the honor of growing up around renowned scientists and engineers from around the world, including my dad.
With the amount of centralized talent in Los Alamos, it was inevitable that I would follow in my father’s footsteps and enter a science/engineering field. I flew from my parents’ nest and studied at the University of California, Davis where I became fascinated with environmental building design and water chemistry. After earning my degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, I quickly knew I wanted to make an influence in the engineering world as a woman engineer.

Golf is my sport! I have been playing golf since I was a young girl and it has remained a lovely hobby of mine. Nothing beats a Sunday afternoon on the links. Let’s talk handicaps!
